EME2040 Blog Journal #8

While working on the Web Design assignment, I acquired some new skills. I decided to branch out, and I used Weebly as my platform of choice. I tend to use Wix, so this was an adjustment at he beginning learning to navigate its features. I enjoyed being able to visualize a classroom setup into a resourceful site setting. Through this assignment I understand how I can use a website to encapsulate my career's work and have any sort of connection go through it.

Using Diigo has been very simple due to its easy-to-understand nature. I can see it becoming very useful in a classroom setting due to its interactive features. Diigo opens up many opportunities for collaboration and connecting with peers. I also like the bookmarking and sharing as it creates a direct source to any useful information I find.

In today's evolving educational environment, technology plays a crucial role in the way we teach and learn. Teachers are required to master the latest educational technology and also leverage it effectively to enhance their teaching. Technology lets educators access resources, collaborate with peers, and personalize learning experiences for students.     hello! your website is amazing! the only thing that i would say is that i think that more pictures could definitely do well, but i love the colors and everything is well-aligned.

    Hello Rebeca! Love your website, only wish the font was a little darker since it could be a little difficult to read at times. I also agree with Emmy in that it may need a few more pictures or more graphics to fill in the white space more. Keep up the great work!

I have had a lot of experiences using MS Word as a student. I have mostly used it for writing essays for class, and it has worked great. A few years ago, I started using Google Docs due to its instant saving features and its accessibility from anywhere through my account. I also have found the templates very useful and have become familiar with its shortcuts. I do tend to gravitate toward Google Docs, but I really like editing and reviewing on MS Word. As a Head Editor for Her Campus, I have to use track changes and leave commentary on my edits which are very usable features on Word. An ISTE standard that stood out to me was For Students: Digital Citizen. This standard emphasizes the importance of being safe, cautious, and responsible online. As technology progresses our digital footprint becomes more extensive and detailed. It is important for students and the newer generations to understand this from the start and know how important and defining one's traces on the World Wide Web...

When I first joined Twitter, I really enjoyed the casual energy of it. In very few words, one could drop a thought and share it with hopes of it resonating with others. During my time on Twitter, I interact with news sources from world happenings to pop culture. I appreciate how it keeps me in the loop through notifications at my fingertips that might be relevant and maintains me informed. In my future career in the technology field, I feel like Twitter would help me access a lot of information with real conversations unfolding before my very eyes of innovations in the world. The digital divide is a very present issue with the rate at which technology has infiltrated our day-to-day lives. To those who have easy and immediate access to it, tend to assume that everyone around them does too which may not always be the case. This can translate within the educational environment.
