Teacher pages on school sites are a very valuable resource for parents and students. It is a one-stop shop that allows for instantaneous access to information and speedy updates from the teacher. I found Ms. Joy Miller's website from Canopy Oaks Elementary School. It is a place where student resources can be found from assignments to important documents, a calendar synced to the official school calendar that allows an overall view of the happenings in class and school, and a small bio provided by the teacher to introduce herself.  https://www.leonschools.net/Page/5696 As a teacher, I envision myself using technology to enhance my efficiency in the classroom. It is important to streamline many processes when teaching to guarantee a smooth experience and time and space for troubleshooting. Google Classroom can definitely help with this due to its versatility and accessibility. I am very familiar with Google's platforms and making them a part of the classroom will not only guaran...

My first experiences using Diigo have been very easy and intuitive. I like the forum-like setup the platform provides and furthering that sense of community. It is very simple to utilize by bookmarking and sharing sites with your thoughts. The annotating feature is also very straightforward and assimilates many alike features I've used in the past. I have really enjoyed blogging for this course. It has allowed me to take a step back and reflect on my past skills and any new ones I have picked up on. I like the journaling nature it has to it and how it helps me keep a record of what I have learned and revisit and witness it too. It has also provided me with a valuable platform to share my insights and even see my peers' point of view. A Web 2.0 tool that I would use during teaching is Google Drive . I appreciate the accessibility of it and its easy-to-follow nature. It would act as a one-stop shop for students to connect, collaborate, and access anything related to classes and l...

When I first joined Twitter, I really enjoyed the casual energy of it. In very few words, one could drop a thought and share it with hopes of it resonating with others. During my time on Twitter, I interact with news sources from world happenings to pop culture. I appreciate how it keeps me in the loop through notifications at my fingertips that might be relevant and maintains me informed. In my future career in the technology field, I feel like Twitter would help me access a lot of information with real conversations unfolding before my very eyes of innovations in the world. The digital divide is a very present issue with the rate at which technology has infiltrated our day-to-day lives. To those who have easy and immediate access to it, tend to assume that everyone around them does too which may not always be the case. This can translate within the educational environment. Students come from different backgrounds with different resources at their disposal–– including technology. ...

The Standard for Communication and Collaboration for grades 3-5 focuses on developing students’ technology skills for them to communicate and collaborate better. This standard is to ensure the student can identify the tools that make up technology. With this, they can learn to collaborate using the tools and truly showcase their communication skills and teamwork abilities. Based on my current technological abilities, I feel prepared to incorporate this in a classroom since I use technology collaboratively in many aspects of my life. As an IT major, plenty of my knowledge is crafted around connecting different worlds and allowing them to communicate effectively. I am overall very familiar with these tools and feel confident implementing them in a classroom environment. Looking at The Preposition Factory for 3rd grade English Language Arts, I noticed some resources. Within CPALMS I noted the benchmarks that allow for seamless incorporation and effective learning for the students. Graphic...
